Summer Associate

Required Degree: M.B.A. (in progress)

Summer Associates use business experience and academic training to analyze our clients’ sales and marketing issues. During the internship, Summer Associates work directly with a ZS Manager or Principal on one or more projects. As a Summer Associate, you will:

  • Coordinate aspects of projects and client relationships
  • Work on an external client project and an internal development initiative, strengthening analytic skills 
  • Motivate and serve as a role model for project team members 
  • Provide thought leadership and innovation within projects and practice areas 
  • At the end of the internship, Summer Associates are evaluated and considered for a full-time offer.

What opportunities exist at ZS?

ZS project teams are usually composed of two to four people drawn from different levels of the firm. Working with small teams on major consulting assignments encourages a close working relationship with ZS Consultants, Managers, Principals and clients. The exposure to clients encourages an understanding of the critical questions facing sales and marketing executives.

ZS provides organized training, which continues as on-the-job learning. During the internship summer, several training sessions are offered, ranging from broad business topics to practice area overviews. A Professional Development Manager will provide career guidance, and project performance feedback will help identify areas for innovation and growth.

What are we looking for?

Summer Associates have completed one year of an M.B.A. program. Most of our Summer Associates possess undergraduate and often graduate degrees with significant analytic or quantitative coursework, as well as 3-5 years of prior work experience. In addition, we seek individuals with the following:
