Memories at Rensselaer: Most of my friends and I lived quite far from campus. During the school day, instead of making the trek back home in-between classes, many of us would relax at the student union. Here, we would always have a good time whether we were just eating a few subs from downstairs, recounting stories from the previous night, or just having a discussion with whoever walked in the door next. It was a great way to pass the time during the day.

On the work
"Since I began at ZS in 2003, I’ve worked with only a single client but I have been involved with a large array of projects for that client. My ongoing project, a Call Plan, has accounted for about half my time at ZS. In this type of project, a large amount of data is analyzed to determine the optimal doctors to target using my client’s sales force. Not every doctor can be visited by a sales rep, so it is my job to pick a select group of professionals based on the business rules set forth by the client. I enjoy this project because I was able to take ownership of much of the process soon after beginning at ZS, and I have taken on more and more as time has gone by.
"In between runs of the Call Plan, which occur three times a year, I get involved with many other projects for my client. This past summer, I took part is a Size and Structure project. In this type of project, the client provides information about an assortment of pharmaceutical products which ZS takes and analyzes to determine the optimal size and structure of that company’s sales force. Normally, the associate who works on this type of project is an ‘OR’, but because I was so close with the client and the data that this client uses, I was given the opportunity to tackle this project. I learned quite a bit and appreciated the experience."
On the ZS values
Treat People Right: "One of my favorite aspects of ZS is the working environment. We have a very academic culture, especially with all the recent college graduates employed here. You can always ask around for help when you encounter an issue during one of your projects. There is always someone willing to spend a few minutes with you to help you through a problem. Also, once you become an experienced employee, you can give back to ZS by contributing some of your time helping others learn and grow as employees."
On life outside work
"Outside of work, the bulk of my time can be attributed to some sort of athletic activity. I enjoy running and biking on the trails which wind around the area. I also take part in the intramural sports which ZS participates in during the year. When at home, I enjoy watching the New York sports teams year-round (basketball, soccer, baseball, etc). In addition, I have a great passion for travel. I’ve taken weekend trips to most major East-coast cities at some point or another, gone back to my alma-mater occasionally in upstate NY, and also visited other points of interest across the world. I am always planning my next trip."
