On the work

“A recent client was marketing a brand new category of diagnostic devices, and we were given the job of reassessing the opportunity, figuring out the best pricing model, selecting the right channel, rationalizing the investment and deploying the sales force effectively. It was a demanding combination of high-level strategic thinking and very detailed analytic rigor. In addition, working with very traditional local management who had little faith in the science of marketing was challenging. An extremely high level of commitment from the ZS team was needed to eventually gain their buy-in.”

On ZS values

Treat People Right: "I think with every project we work on, the ZS values are the foundation upon which everything else is built. Treating people right for me means that the work my team gets assigned is challenging and allows everyone to learn a lot, stretch themselves to the limit and push themselves to come up with creative solutions.”

On life outside work

“On weekends I occasionally go hiking in mountains on the outskirts of Tokyo with my friends, my wife and my dogs. We stay overnight in my friend’s cabin. The sunrise from the balcony is magnificent! There are also nice spas that help us refresh ourselves.”
