Memories of Purdue: Purdue has one of the best IE programs in the nation, and I certainly take pride in my education there. While much of my three-and-a-half years was spent on pulling all-nighters to finish up projects and studying in the coffee shop, I'll never forget memories of shuffling snow, movies on Fridays, the 2.5-hour-Chicago trips, the only three Japanese restaurants, working out in the state-of-the-art gym, and late night Walmart runs.

On the work

"We were approached by a biotechnology company to analyze their new hospital-physician affiliation data and assess the quality of their sales force alignment. They wanted to know how good the updated linkage between hospitals and physicians was, how much sales was referred out of territory and how they could minimize that. We compared the old and new affiliation data and concluded that the new data did not necessarily provide better linkage, so we based the cross-territory sales analysis on the old data. The tool we developed looked closely at their alignment and made recommendations to problematic territories to reduce their sales referred out of territory by five percent. The outcome of this project was very practical and the customer was very satisfied with the end result."

On ZS values

Treat People Right: "When I first started as an Business Information Specialist, I had very little experience with programming. I still remember there was one night that I was staying late trying to figure out why the output of the analysis did not make sense, and how I should modify the codes in the software to get the right numbers. It was getting really late and an Associate Consultant I hardly knew walked by my office and offered to help. Even though she was under a deadline to get her work done, she still spent two hours helping me to look at ways to resolve the data issues. I was extremely touched by the kindness she had shown me and I vowed to help new Associates whenever I can."

On life outside work

"I love to go out, fine dining/dancing and just have a good time with friends. I am also a big fan of kareoke, or even singing in the shower. I am health conscious, so I work out regularly and like to do yoga and Pilates as much as I can."

On the San Mateo office

"The San Mateo office is on the top floor of the tallest building in San Mateo with amazing views through huge windows from all four sides of the offices. While nice restaurants are just minutes away, we also make use of the soccer/softball field and tennis courts across the street. People here like to work hard and play hard together, which result in the formation of many strong bonds that are built to last."
