On the work

"Our client has a vaccine whose regulatory approval has been extended to children. With this new indication, combined with the higher safety, tolerability, and efficacy of the vaccine, the client is planning to create a new sales force for promotion of this vaccine in public health departments. Unlike, a typical sales force project at ZS, this project was more unstructured because of the lack of data at the granular level. We had to make a lot of intelligent assumptions and educated guesses along the way. I was responsible for building the model with surrogate data to come up with the size of sales force and its alignment. Also, the model had to be flexible enough, to allow the client to make changes to some of our assumptions. In this project, I worked with a consultant and a principal to understand ways to work with data that is imperfect and draw conclusions from them. The client has started recruiting people for the sales force based on our recommendations.

"One of our larger clients wanted to integrate one of its subsidiary's sales operations into its own. The project involved integrating several functional areas including data analytics and reporting, sales force automation, incentive compensation, targeting, and sales force alignments. I was part of a big project team and worked on several areas of the project like data analytics & reporting, incentive compensation, and targeting. Some of the interesting work that I did involved looking at the client's current system and the system at the subsidiary, mapping the difference, and coming up with appropriate data management processes to integrate the two systems. This project was early on in my career at ZS, and it made me realize the value we add to the client and on how all these different practice areas at ZS come together in helping the client deal with their different sales issues. The project was a huge success, and I was happy that I was able to positively impact the client."

On ZS values

Get It Right: "At ZS, we take pride in the quality of the work that we deliver to our client. When I started working on the incentive compensation practice area, the entire project team would work extra hard to QC every little fraction, decimal, and cent. It really makes you feel motivated to come to work, when you know that every person working with you is smart, intelligent, and will 'get it right' every time."

On life outside work

"At ZS, we have a volleyball and softball team that plays in a league during summer, and I am part of both. Last year, we had a great volleyball team and we ended up winning the whole thing. I am a big sports fan too, so I follow everything from cricket to NBA to NFL to college basketball and football. I also play some poker with fellow ZSers once a week."

On the Princeton office

"Located between New York and Philadelphia, Princeton is a great place to be living. It is neither a sleepy town nor a congested metropolis."
