On the work
“During my internship summer I worked on a market research project for a major pharmaceutical company. Even as an intern, I played a large role in analyzing data and putting together deliverables for our client and I also was able to attend clients meetings throughout the summer. My team members were from all ZS positions and we collaborated with several of our other offices on a regular basis. I also had the chance to participate in a rollout, which is where ZSers get to meet one-on-one with our clients' regional directors to finalize territory and personnel assignments after we complete an alignment. It was interesting to visit a client's headquarters and see firsthand the positive reaction the directors had to our recommendations and how excited they were to implement our changes.”
On the internship
“Expect a lot of responsibility right away! It isn't necessary to have a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, but it is good to know a little bit about what is going on currently. Ask as many questions as possible, because it will only increase your understanding what ZS does and the processes it uses.”
