Memories of USC: My most memorable USC moment would undoubtedly be the USC-UCLA football games—the pre-game wrapping of the Tommy Trojan statue, the "kill the Bruin" campaign and the tail gate parties. The air was just always buzzing with anticipation and excitement. The sentiment was akin to what it felt like back home in India, before an India- Pakistan cricket game!

ZS Career Path

Business Information Specialist, 2006

On the work

"In my tenure at ZS, I have been staffed on one client, but on different types of projects. My primary project is Incentive Compensation—more goal setting than admin—for two projects, one mature and another a new launch. Although one might argue that setting goals for a newly launched product in a mature market is not very wise, it provided a great learning experience, and there was never a dull moment. The manipulations and methodology to set fair and motivating goals are a great learning experience in themselves.

"The other aspect of my project work at ZS involves information presentation, which ZS calls dashboards. One of the two dashboards I work on has market and managed care insights. The dashboard requires a lot of market research and in depth knowledge of the everchanging face of managed care—the inputs for which come from a principal who is one of the managed care experts at ZS. There doesn't seem to be any aspect of managed care that he is unaware of, or doesn't have an explanation for!"

On ZS values

Get It Right and Treat People Right: "Goal setting—We had already set goals on a project, and the quarter was almost coming to an end. We realized that the client wanted exceptions to be treated differently from how we had treated them. In true ZS style, we spent numerous hours—meetings, presentations, conference calls, emails, et cetera, to explain to the client why their suggestions might not be best for their sales representatives, and eventually came to a good agreement."

On life outside work

"Having spent my life in warm and sunny places (Mumbai and then Los Angeles), I love the outdoors. I enjoy trekking, camping and river rafting. In general, I love being outdoors and just walking around. Besides that, I like read and watch loads of movies."

On the Princeton office

"The best thing about Princeton is the people! In a very short time, there is a feeling of familiarity and comfort. Everyone here is very warm and friendly and always ready to lend a helping hand."
